Ajloun Forest Reserve

محمية غابات عجلون

Evergreen oak forest, guided trails and ziplines

A protected area of about 13 square kilometres of rolling oak, pistachio and strawberry-tree woodland, run by the Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature. Walk a short loop on your own or book a guided trail to the villages.

The reserve was created to protect an evergreen oak forest. In spring the ground is covered in wildflowers, and the short Roe Deer Trail, named after the deer the reserve is known for, starts near the campsite.

Six trails are offered, from under an hour to a full day. The longer ones go with a local guide and end in the villages of Rasoun and Orjan or at Ajloun Castle. The reserve also has an adventure village with ziplines, rope courses and a climbing wall, and two restaurants that cook by advance order.
